Agent Lifecycle Management
Restart, update, stop or delete a CommandLyne agent, with the impact of each action and a summary of which lifecycle control to reach for when.
Overview
CommandLyne provides full control over your agent and its dedicated VM. Lifecycle controls are available inside the Agent Configuration panel.
How to Access Lifecycle Controls

Go to Agents.

Click your running agent.

Open the Config panel.

Use the available controls: Restart, Update, Stop, or Delete.
Restart Agent
Use Restart when:
- The agent becomes unresponsive.
- You want to refresh the VM.
- Configuration changes require a reboot.
Steps:

Click Restart.

Wait around 1–2 minutes.

Reload the interface.
After restart, the agent status should return to Running.
Update Agent
Use Update to upgrade your agent to the latest version.
Updates may include:
- Bug fixes
- Security patches
- Feature improvements
- Performance enhancements
Steps:

Click Update.

Confirm the action.

Wait around 2–3 minutes.

Refresh the page.

Check the version number in the configuration panel.
After update, the agent status should return to Running.
Stop Agent
Use Stop when:
- You are not actively using the agent.
- You want to temporarily stop the VM.
- You want to conserve resources.
Steps:

Click Stop.

Wait for the status to change from Running to Stopped.
When stopped, the agent cannot process requests. You can restart it anytime.
Delete Agent
Use Delete only when you want to permanently remove the agent.
Steps:

Click Delete.

Confirm the deletion.
This permanently removes:
- The agent
- The associated VM
- Configuration and integration settings
- Agent data
